For more than 27 years, my career has been dedicated to the printing industry—an environment where precision, technology, and creativity intersect. I began my journey with a formal apprenticeship at one of South Africa’s most respected printing companies, earning my qualification as a photo‑lithographer before completing a second trade in Electronic Origination as desktop publishing reshaped the industry.

Since then, I’ve grown alongside every major evolution in software, hardware, and workflow. Staying current with new tools and technologies remains a priority, allowing me to maintain a high level of technical proficiency and to guide others with confidence.

Today, as an Origination and Prepress Manager, I oversee the full electronic front-end process: graphic design, typesetting, proofreading, desktop layout, pre‑flighting, imposition, proofing, plate imaging for 8‑up offset, and digital file preparation for toner and inkjet web presses. I have led teams of up to forty specialists across multiple national sites, providing technical direction, workflow optimisation, and hands‑on problem‑solving for both internal stakeholders and clients.

My background as a certified trade training instructor has strengthened my ability to mentor staff, support designers, and simplify complex production requirements. I take pride in making high‑end print processes accessible—especially for new creators and self‑publishers who may find the industry intimidating. When clients understand the rules, possibilities, and best practices, they can produce exceptional work.
